My name is Andres Vasco, I’m from Ecuador and I have worked as a Sound Engineer, Mixer, and Sound Designer since 2013. I entered the Sound Recording and Engineering program at USFQ in Quito in 2011 - a Berklee International Network Institution. Here I earned years of technical knowledge and experience in the field of studio recording as well as mixing and mastering. During my undergrad I worked with dozens of bands of different genres, becoming proficient in producing diverse types of music. At the same time I worked in the evenings at music venues and festivals doing stage setup and live sound for bands varying from jazz to metal.
I studied in-depth music theory, ear training, conducting and sight reading. Accompanied with private guitar lessons from the best teachers in my country, all this made me a well-rounded musician. I have played in venues all over Ecuador, the UK and the US, from 2013 onwards. I played many different genres including rock, metal, jazz, funk, that have helped me gain more expertise in guitar playing.
After my Bachelor’s degree I worked for projects in my university as a Sound engineer, doing live sound for concerts within the university and working on studio recordings and maintenance. As well as working freelance in different studios and doing live sound in venues all over my city.
In 2018 I studied Sound Design at the University of Edinburgh. There, apart from learning about fixed and interactive sound design, I worked in various documentaries and indie films - which earned awards at international film festivals. I also worked on games as a Sound Designer, becoming proficient using Unity and Wwise.
In 2019 I moved to the Netherlands, where I have worked on both Feature length and short dutch films, as well as various musical projects. From 2022 I also started working as a sound engineer for broadcasting, having worked for Ziggo Sports, Viaplay, DAZN, ESPN, etc.
